Age: 50

Sex: male

Date: 10 Aug 2002

Place: Camden High Street, Camden Town

Thomas Breen was stabbed to death in Camden Town outside the Elephant's Head pub on 10 August 2002.

A person was arrested shortly after but no one was ever charged.

He had been out for the night with a friend when he was stabbed in the chest in the street in an unprovoked attack following an altercation with two men. His friend was also stabbed but his injuries were not serious.

They were attacked in Camden High Street near the junction with Hawley Road.

The two men were thought to have been seen on CCTV leaving the Elephant's Head pub shortly before the stabbings. The two men were described as white. One of them was said to be about 30-years-old, 5ft 10in tall and with a stocky build. The other man was said to be in his 20s with a stocky build and with short dark hair.

However, CCTV from along Camden High Street was all pointing the wrong way.

Thomas Breen was from Downpatrick in Northern Ireland and was a builder. He had come to London for work having left his wife and children at their home in Northern Ireland.
