The mummified remains of a child were found in an old tin box.

They were found when a family entered into occupation of the house and explored the dark cellar in which they discovered the box.

Doctors said that the child may have been there for many years.

The police said that they were making enquiries into the history of the families that were known to have occupied the premises.
