Elaine Taggart disappeared on 3 January 2008.
She had lived in Ferringham Lane, Ferring, West Sussex.
The police said that she had either had an accident or had become the victim of a serious crime.
Her husband was arrested on suspicion of her murder on 9 April 2008, however no further action was taken.
Whilst her husband was being questioned the police dug up their front garden. Their home was described as being worth £700,000.
Fields around Ferring and Goring were also searched by police and volunteers.
Her car, a red Fiat Punto with registration number N988 YJB was found the day after she disappeared near to Goring railway station, which was about a five-minute drive from her home.
Elaine Taggart had been a catering finance manager for Chartwells at Brighton College.
She was last seen on 3 January 2008 when she gave a colleague a lift home from work. The police said that she had taken her passport, £2,000 in cash, clothes and jewellery with her.
Elaine Taggart was described as:
She had had two children, a 13-year-old son and an 11-year-old daughter. It was noted that she failed to contact her family when her son turned 14 which the police described as extraordinary. She had also missed Mother's Day.
