Carmel Fenech

Age: 16

Sex: female

Date: 23 May 1998

Place: Crawley, West Sussex

Carmel Fenech went missing after a court hearing at Camberwell Magistrates Court.

She had lived in Moyne Road, Broadfield and was last seen at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court on 21 May 1998 with a man.

She had been addicted to crack cocaine.

She had previously lived in Peckham, but her family had moved to Broadfield near Crawley eleven months earlier because she had become involved with drugs. However, she was known to return to Peckham and to go to the Brixton and Stockwell areas to see friends. She was said to have had few contacts or friends in Crawley.

She was reported missing five weeks after she was last seen.

Police opened a murder investigation in 2002.

She was 5ft tall with brown eyes and black hair and had a Mediterranean complexion. She was half Maltese. She also had a scar on her forehead about two inches long and had one leg shorter than the other which caused her to limp.

The police said that they were interested in tracing the man that Carmel Fenech was last seen with at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court but said that they had no description of him.

Carmel Fenech was also known as Carmel Pendry.
