Date: 14 Sep 1912

Place: King Square

The body of a newly-born child was found in King Square.

The body was found in a parcel by a man out early on the Saturday morning, 14 September 1912, at about 7am as he went through the green in King Square. He said that the parcel was just inside the railings. He said that he opened the parcel, and when he saw what it was, he went for the police.

The police said that there was nothing in the parcel that could help them identify the mother.

The doctor said that there were no marks of violence on the body and that all of its organs were healthy, and the child had been a perfectly nourished one.

An open verdict was returned.
