The body of a man was found in the River Thames at the entrance to Shadwell Dock.

He was described as being about 55 years of age, about 5ft 9in tall, bald, clean shaven and with good teeth. He had been wearing dark grey tweed trousers and a jacket with the words 'Isaac Walton, Newcastle' on a tab, a light tweed vest, a blue striped Oxford shirt with the name 'Harold Williams, 270, Kentish Town Road' on the collar, a blue leather belt with a snake buckle, white cotton socks and black laced shoes. He also had a white cotton handkerchief on him.
