Eva Henson

Age: 18

Sex: female

Date: 8 Mar 1933

Place: River Derwent, Derby

Eva Henson was found nude in the River Derwent at Derby on 8 March 1933

She was last seen on 2 February 1933 at 8pm when she filled a coal bucket at her home in Arkwright Street in Chesterfield.

When it was later found that she had not gone to bed and was not on the premises a search was made but it wasn't until 8 March that her body was found.

She was described by her father as merry and happy as the flowers in May.

Her employer at the Station Hotel in Rowsley said that Eva Henson had worked for her for two years and was of a pleasant disposition.

It was heard that she had died from suffocation.

At her inquest, the coroner stated that there was not enough evidence to show how she had got into the river.
