Arthur Worship was knocked down by a motor-car at the junction of City Road and Wulfric Road in Sheffield.

The driver of the motor-car said that Arthur Worship had walked out in front of him with his head bent.

An open verdict was returned.

A tram driver said that he had been driving a tramcar along City Road towards Darnall when he had seen Arthur Worship start to cross the road about 10-yards in front of him. He said then that the motor-car began to pass him on the offside and he shouted to Arthur Worship and sounded his gong. He said that Arthur Worship, who had had his head bent, then looked up just as the motor-car drew ahead but was struck by the bonnet.

The tram driver said that he estimated the motor-car's speed to have been about 30mph and said that he thought that it was going a little too fast.

The car driver, who was from Ecclesall Road said that Arthur Worship had walked out from in front of the tram with his head bent.

Arthur Worship's death was given as being due to meningitis following a fracture to the base of the skull.
