Pat Simpson was found strangled in a disused iron ore mine near Cardiff.

She was last seen talking to a man in a minicar in the dockland.

Her black chiffon scarf was found still wound round her neck when she was found.

Her body was found by four Cardiff schoolboys that had been out on a pot holing expedition.

At the time of her murder she had been sharing a flat with a friend in South Luton Place, Adamsdown.

Pat Simpson was also referred to as Patricia Smith. In 2003 it was reported that a man serving 11 years for mansluaghter in Isreal had admitted to murdering her.
