Baby

The body of a 12-month old child was found in a gateway in Poplar.

It was wrapped up in an apron and brown paper.

The medical evidence showed that death was caused by pneumonia. The child had a scratch on its face caused before death and its head was encrusted with dirt. Its stomach was empty and its body very emaciated giving the appearance that it had been neglected.

An open verdict was returned.
