Helen Rosemary Hooper disappeared from her home on 13 February 1976 and was never seen again.

She was reported missing to the police after she failed to show up to meet her lover with whom she was going to set up a new home with.

Her husband was charged with her murder but the case was dismissed. Her body has never been found.

The police found minute bloodstains at her home including bloodstains on a knife and shoes.

Helen Hooper had become friendly with a fellow teacher and had decided to set up home with him on 14 February 1976 but on the 13 February their children heard them quarrelling and she was never seen again and failed to keep her meeting with her lover. When their children asked where their mother was the husnaband told them that she had gone shopping.

In a police interview her husband was alleged to have said, 'If I cant have her, nobody else will'.
