Arthur James Thom was found dead with a six-chambered revolver in his hand, two of which had been discharged.
He was a designer and formerly the secretary of a glass and painter's society but was said to have been latterly depressed owing to improper allegations that his books were wrong.
When he was found he also had a box of cartridges in his pocket.
An open verdict was returned.
