John Bullen

Age: 32

Sex: male

Date: 22 Jun 1901

Place: Asfordby

John Bullen was found dead on a railway line.

He had been out on a Bass excursion train but had missed his proper train at Yarmouth and had taken the following train.

It was said that he had got into a compartment with six other passengers and that at the start of the journey there had been some wrangling but that it had not concerned John Bullen and that they had all then gone to sleep.

However, it was heard that when the train neared Nottingham the men woke up to find John Bullen missing and the carriage door open.

It was suggested that John Bullen had opened the door and when the train had entered a sharp curve near to where he was found he had been thrown out.

An open verdict was returned.
