Karim Samms was shot in the chest with a shotgun in Roebourne Way, London on the night of Friday 7 April 2017.
The emergency services arrived at the scene at about 10.44pm but he was found to be dead. His post mortem gave his cause of death as a gunshot wound to the chest.
It was noted that another 20-year-old man was also shot earlier that evening nearby in Claremont Close. The man was taken to hospital but did not require being admitted as an in-patient. However, the police said that they thought that the two incidents were connected.
A Nissan Juke car was seen to drive into a car park in Roebourne Way after which two men were seen to approach a group of people that Karim Samms had been with and shot him. The people that Karim Samms had been with ran off. After the shooting the Nissan Juke car was seen to drive off at speed and several men were seen running off. The murder was caught on CCTV and the Metropolitan Police later released the footage.
Two 17-year-olds and an 18-year-old were arrested soon after but no charges were made.
The police said, 'We previously released CCTV footage in the lead up to Karim’s brutal murder and said at the time that we are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a dark coloured Nissan Juke in the area, which we believe carried the suspects to and from the scene'.
