Flora Burgun

Age: 33

Sex: female

Date: 10 May 1935

Place: 20 Langley Street, New Herrington, Sunderland

Flora Burgun died following an abortion.

Her death was stated as being due to peritonitis following an abortion.

However, there was no evidence to show when, by whom, or by what means the injury that procured the abortion had been caused.

The pathologist that carried out her post-mortem said that an instrument might have been used.

She had lived in Bennet's Yard in Uxbridge, Middlesex but had been on holiday in Sunderland with her husband at the time and had been taken to the Sunderland Royal Infirmary where she died on 10 May 1935. When she was in Sunderland she had been staying at her mother's home at 20 Langley Street in New Herrington.

Neither her husband or her mother knew how her injury had been brought about, however, Flora Burgun had been able to talk until about two hours before she died.
