Nancy Jane Long died from an illegal operation.
She was from Farringdon but had died suddenly in a boarding house in Abingdon where she was on holiday.
A doctor went to the boarding house at around midnight and found her dead. He said that he found indications of an unskilled attempt to use an instrument and said that whilst it was not impossible that the injury could have been self-inflicted, it was highly improbable.
He said that the probable cause of death was shock.
At the inquest a man representing a man that had also been staying at the boarding house claimed that the inquest had first been adjourned on 15 January 1935 so that the police could investigate the man that had been staying at the lodging house, inferring that he was in some way involved, but nothing more was later inferred against the man and the inquest was closed on 6 March 1935.
An open verdict was returned.
