The body of a newly-born male child was found in the Caledonian Canal at Muirtown in Inverness on 2 October 1936.
The body was found by a 74-year old man that had been walking along the canal bank when he had noticed a parcel tied up with string on the surface and pulled it out with a stick. He found the child inside when he opened it.
