Date: 24 Dec 1910
Place: Heugh Street, Falkirk
The body of a newly-born male child was found in the steps of a cottage that was under construction.
The child was found wrapped up in a brown paper parcel tied up with string by two workmen who were altering two steps at the back of the cottage that had just been laid a couple of weeks earlier.
The child was found inside the parcel wrapped up in a bloodstained shirt and cloth.
It was said that some considerable effort must have been made to hide the body as the step was of considerable weight.
