Lamduan Armitage was found in a stream in the Yorkshire Dales.

Her cause of death could not be determined.

Her body was not identified until January 2019 when a family from Thailand came forward to say that they thought that the woman might have been their missing relative. She was then identified by DNA in March 2019.

She had come to the UK in 1991 after marrying an English man in Thailand. They lived in Portsmouth, Rugby and Preston. Her husband said that he was not involved in her murder.

It was thought that her birth name was Lamduan Seekanya and that she was originally from Udon Thani province in north east Thailand.

Whilst in the United Kingdom between 1991 and 2004 she was should to have lived in Portsmouth, Rugby and Preston.

She was thought to have gone back to Thailand for a visit sometime between 2003 and 2004, but it is not known where in Thailand she had gone.

The police appealed for anyone that had known her between 1991 and 2004 to come forward.

In February 2023 it was reported that the police had gone to Thailand to speak to Lamduan Armitage 's husband and family as part of their cold case investigation, however, it was said that they had been unable to speak with her husband.
