James McGregor Johnson

Age: 53

Sex: male

Date: 8 Jun 1937

Place: Surbiton

James McGregor Johnson was found unconscious on a footpath in Surbiton.

His post-mortem stated that his cause of death was a fractured skull due to a heavy fall, but the Coroner said that there was no evidence to show how that had  been caused.

He was a doctor and had been in practice in the North until about 1927. He was of no fixed address and when he visited his sister-in-law about a year earlier she said that he had seemed to be in rather low water. His sister-in-law also said that he drank a lot.

The policeman that found him said that when he searched him he found a partly filled small bottle of whisky on him.
