Baby

Age: 0

Sex: male

Date: 4 Feb 1939

Place: Stockton Railway Station

The body of a newly born baby was found in the compartment of a railway carriage at Stockton station on Saturday 2 February 1938.

The railway carriage had been standing there in a siding at the station since the previous Wednesday.

The child’s body had been in a paper carrier bag and was found by a cleaner.

It was found on the same day that the body of another child was found dead, wrapped up in newspaper in a beck near to the station, however, the police said that they thought that the findings were a coincidence.

The police said that they did not think that the child had been born in the railway carriage.

The doctor said that the child had been born full term and that its death had been due to inattention at birth. He said that it had died about two or three days previously.
