The body of a newly-born child was found about 800 yards north of the mouth of the River Don in Aberdeen.
The body had been wrapped up in a white pillow slip and bath towel which were both wet when it was found, indicating that the body had been in the water and had been washed up on the sand.
It was found about eight feet from the water's edge by a man out walking along the beach.
