Age: 41

Sex: male

Date: 1 Nov 2017

Place: Bog Lane, Gilfach Goch, Rhondda Cynon Taff

Jamie Perkins was found dead in a culvert in Bog Lane, Gilfach Goch, Rhondda Cynon Taff on 1 November 2017.

He was seen in Hendreforgan on 8 October 2017 and then later last seen on 12 October 2017 in Gilfach Goch. The police said that they thought that Jamie Perkins could well have been murdered around that time and that his body had been lying in the ditch for three weeks.

His body was found in the ditch in Bog Lane between the Ffordd Llanbad housing estate and the Griffin Inn public house. When found he had been wearing a camouflage hooded top, dark jeans and dark trainers.

The police said that injuries found on his head and body suggested that he had been assaulted prior to his death.

Four people were arrested in relation to his murder but no one was charged.

The police said that they thought the key to solving his murder lay in the local community.

His inquest, which concluded on 25 June 2021 returned the verdict that he was unlawfully killed.

He had previously been a boxer and had boxed for Wales in his youth and had also fought in the Gaelic games in Ireland, having boxed since he was 9-years-old.

He was also a father-of-one.
