Yassin Omar Mohammed

Age: 28

Sex: male

Date: 14 May 2013

Place: Greenhill Road, Harlesden, North London

Yassin Omar Mohammed was attacked with a broken bottle and left a quadriplegic on 1 April 2009 but died four years later on 14 May 2013 from bronchial pneumonia brought on by his condition.

He had gone to a party in Wembley on 31 March 2009 where he had got into an argument with another man and had a fight.

Later that early morning, at about 3am, he was walking along Greenhill Road in Wembley when someone hit him with a bottle that broke his top vertebrae. The injury left him with spinal injuries and paralysed from the neck downwards.

He was taken to hospital and then later taken to Wilsmere Care Home, in Harrow Wealde, where he was cared for. However, he later developed breathing problems on Tuesday 14 May 2013 and was taken to the hospital for treatment but died.

Shortly after the assault with the bottle, a 33 year-old man was charged with causing grievous bodily harm to Yassin Mohammed, but he was acquitted at Harrow Crown Court on 16 April 2010.
