Baby

Age: 0

Sex: male

Date: 30 Mar 1940

Place: Coliseum Cinema, Harrow Road

The body of a newly-born child was found in a brown paper parcel in the ladies' cloakroom at the Coliseum Cinema.

It was found by a cleaner who said that she thought it was a bomb.

A doctor that examined the child's body said that the child had not been dead for more than three days and that it was a newly-born that had been given some attention, but not fed.

He said that death was due to asphyxia, but that there were no injuries to the child’s body, and so it was impossible to say how it was caused.

An open verdict was returned.
