Maurice Ernest Hunt

Age: 15

Sex: male

Date: 28 Dec 1940

Place: Leicester

Maurice Ernest Hunt was found dead on his sofa by his mother.

He had gone out the previous day at about 5pm to go to the police station to enquire about his bicycle which had been stolen. He was not seen until the next day when his mother found him dead on the sofa in his raincoat.

It was not known how he died, and the post-mortem did not reveal a cause of death.

When he had gone out to look for his bicycle, he had taken his brother's bicycle, but no trace of his brother's bicycle was found after he returned.

He was said to have been cheerful and to have had no worries. He also had a regular girlfriend in Durham and was said to have been planning to go and see her at Christmas although he had not told his mother about it.

He had been an engineer fitter's assistant.
