Sex: male

Date: 1 Dec 1919

Place: Summer Road, Peckham

Frederick Roalfe died following an altercation.

His son-in-law was tried for his manslaughter but was acquitted. He was also acquitted of assault.

It was said that they had had a few words after a child had visited a picture palace that had come to blows.

It was heard then that Frederick Roalfe had become unconscious after he struck his head against the back of a chair but recovered. For the next few days he appeared to have recovered from the blow, but then suddenly became worse and was admitted to the infirmary where he died.

His son-in-law was charged with having struck him at the Central Criminal Court on 15 January 1920 but was acquitted.
