The body of a woman thought to be Caroline Smith was found washed up in the mud of the River Thames at Gravesend.
It was heard that someone had threatened to murder her the night before she died. The police said that they made every effort to trace the man that was said to have threatened to murder her, but no trace of him could be found.
It was thought that Caroline Smith had previously lived in Hamilton Street in Ipswich.
