Charles Tier died during a game of Russian roulette at his house in Cromwell Street, Gainsborough in November 1994.
A 35-year-old man was charged with his manslaughter but cleared after the proseciution offered no evidence.
Charles Tier put the revolver to his head and pulled the trigger as his girlfriend and two friends looked on.
The police send a file to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), but the CPS discontinued the proceedings due to lack of evidence.

However, the police said that they beleived that if the evidence was presented to s Crown Court jury that the CPS would be able to secure a conviction.
A detective said:
The man that was alleged to have loaded the gun, an ex-military policeman, said that he could not remember loading the gun, but also stated that he could not remember not loading it either.
