Batatunde Oba was attacked at a nightclub on 28 December 1999 and taken to Ealing Hospital where he died the following morning.
Four people were convicted of his murder in in February 2000 but later had their convictions quashed in 2004 after it was heard that evidence given by an expert witness on CCTV images was flawed.
Batatunde Oba had stepped in to calm an argument between two men when he was attacked by a gang of men and stabbed nine times in the back of the head, chest, stomach, arms and legs. It took about seven bouncers to get the men off him.
