Peter Miller was found dead in his kitchen.
He was found dead in his kitchen by his brother at 7.45pm on Sunday 9 December 1984.
He had been stabbed to death. The murder weapon was never found.
A CS canister was found at the scene and it was thought that it had been used either by Peter Miller or his murderer.
Over the years, about 170 case exhibits were either destroyed, returned or lost.
A sharp instrument was later recovered following fresh information in 2013.
