Richard Ballinger was knocked down on the Great West Road by a vehicle that didn't stop.
He was knocked down by the vehicle on the Great West Road in a black-out in December 1942, but after a period at home he was admitted to West Middlesex Hospital suffering from an abscess in the groin, where he stayed for three weeks, making a full recovery. However, on 15 May 1943 he was sent back to the hospital on his doctor’s advice and later died.
