The police traced a black Mercedes CLK 220 car with the registration KJ06 CCZ which was found burnt out in Warren Road, Leytonstone at about 11.30pm on the day that Ahmed Jah was murdered and determined that it had been seen in the area on the A406, near the A12 junction at Redbridge Roundabout at around 2.25pm on 2 April 2017, about an hour before Ahmed Jah was stabbed.

The police said that they were interested in finding out where the black Mercedes car had been. They said, 'The movements of this car form a vital part of this investigation and we need to work out its whereabouts from when it was spotted shortly before 2.30pm on 2 April and when it was discovered burnt out later that night.  If you remember seeing this car in between those timeframes, or have any information that could assist the investigation, I would urge you to call the police'.

The police appealed for anyone that had been in the Freemasons area at around the time Ahmed Jah was stabbed, or who lived nearby and saw or heard anything to come forward.

Ahmed Jah had lived 50 yards away from the off-licence and had four siblings.

His father said that Ahmed Jah had left their house minutes before he was murdered and that he heard the sirens and saw the helicopter overhead shortly after and new that something was wrong but didn't think that his son had been involved until the police called at his door.

On 26 April 2021 Ahmed Deen-Jah's brother Junior Jah was also stabbed to death in Canning Town.
