Stephen Keogh

Age: 38

Sex: male

Date: 21 Jan 2019

Place: Bletchley, Milton Keynes

Stephen Keogh was found dead in a disused railway tunnel in Bletchley, Milton Keynes on 21 January 2019.

An open verdict was returned.

Parts of his body were found by railway workers semi-buried in shallow water in the tunnel on 21 January 2019 whilst the rest of his skeleton was found 30m further down the tunnel nine days later.

However, his body was too decomposed for a cause of death to be established. However, drug paraphernalia was found nearby, including a syringe and a tie. He was identified by dental records.

The post mortem revealed no fresh damage to his bones, and nothing to indicate that an assault had taken place and no evidence of dismemberment. The Coroner concluded that there was insufficient evidence to state that his death had been the result of a third party, accident or was drug-related.

A pathologist said that his death was unexplained but not suspicious.

However, the police said, 'We are unable to rule out third-party involvement, but there is no tangible evidence to suggest this. It would not be reasonable or proportional to investigate third-party involvement'.

Stephen Keogh was last seen alive at his home in Netherfield in May 2015.

The tunnel was 250m long and close to the Granby Court flats in Bletchley, about a mile and a half from his home.
