The body of a newly-born female child was found wrapped up in a parcel under a hedge at Twigworth.
The body was found by a scrap dealer who had been walking towards Gloucester on the main road from Tewkesbury. He found it as he was walking near Twigworth School in Twigworth.
He said that he thought that it had contained someone’s rations and kicked it and then afterwards opened it to find the body of the child.
