Alisa Dmitrijeva was found dead on the Queen's Sandringham Estate in Norfolk on 1 January 2012.
She went missing in September 2011 from her home in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.
She was last seen in Friar's Street, King's Lynn, at 12:15pm on 31 August 2011 in a green Lexus car with two men. She was later reported missing by her grandmother on 6 September 2011.
It was thought that she had earlier been to a party at a beach car park in Snettisham, Norfolk earlier on in the day after her phone signal indicated that she had been there. The last signal given out by her phone was from the Sandringham Estate.
Two Lithuanian men that she had been at the party with in Snettisham were arrested on suspicion of her murder and questioned but not charged. Fibres from Alisa Dmitrijeva's clothing was found in the boot of the car owned by one of the men arrested.
Her body was found by a dog walker in a copse at the Queen's Sandringham Estate in Anmer. She was found partially-clothed. She was identified by a palm print and DNA.
Her inquest heard that her body was so decomposed that pathologists were unable to determine a cause of death. The two men that were initially arrested for her murder were due to give evidence at the inquest but they failed to show up and subsequently could not be traced.
The Coroner was not able to determine the cause of death or whether she had died where she was found or elsewhere and said that she could have been there for up to four months.
A car was later recovered from a scrapyard in March 2012 that was said to have been the car that she was last seen in. It was a green P-registration Lexus GS300. The car was examined by police forensic experts including a forensic palynologist to look for and identify pollen and spores. The police said that they had found a very rare composition of spores from fungi at the site where her body was found and were hoping to find a match.
During the police investigation, the police said that they were interested in finding her mobile phone which was not recovered. It was a black LG GM360.
Alisa Dmitrijeva was from Latvia having come to the UK in 2009. She had been living with her grandmother in Wisbech whilst she studied at college.
