Annie Jackson

Age: 61

Sex: female

Date: 30 Mar 1945

Place: Blundellsands, Liverpool

Annie Jackson was washed up dead on Blundellsands on 30 March 1945.

Her body was fully clothed when it was washed up.

Her post-mortem stated that she died from asphyxia due to drowning.

She had no financial worries although she had previously complained of dizziness attacks and had said that her eyes were failing her. She was said to have been cheerful and to have never threatened her life.

Her brother-in-law said that she had always had good health but that she had fallen at Arrowe Par about eight or nine months earlier and had injured her nose which had apparently begun to affect her eyesight. He said that he last saw her on 26 March 1945 and they had arranged that she would call on him again the following Wednesday.

A friend who resided with Annie Jackson said that on the Wednesday Annie Jackson told her that she was going to call on her sister and that that was the last that she saw of her.

An open verdict was returned.

She was a retired shop assistant and had lived in Temple Road, Birkenhead.
