Charles Fell was found in Royal Hospital Road outside the Royal Hospital in Chelsea on Sunday 21 January 1917 with a broken nose and head injuries.
He later died from injuries to his brain.
An open verdict was returned at his inquest.
He was found in Royal Hospital Road on the Sunday morning by a fireman with the Chelsea Brigade as he was walking along. The fireman said that he had appeared to be very ill.
The fireman obtained police assistance and Charles Fell was removed on the ambulance to the infirmary where he died on the Wednesday, 24 January 1917
Charles Fell had been a soldier from Devon.
