Cafer Aslan

Age: 54

Sex: male

Date: 23 Aug 2017

Place: Westminster Road, Enfield, London

Cafer Aslan was shot in Westminster Road, Enfield, at the junction with Bounces Road at about 9.10pm on 23 August 2017.

He ran a cafe called the Yavruvatan Sports Club in Bounces Road, just round the corner from where he was shot and had just finished work and was walking back to his car when he was shot.

The police and emergency services were called to Westminster Road just after 9pm but Cafer Aslan died at the scene about half an hour later.

His post mortem gave his cause of death as being due to multiple gunshot wounds.

Two men aged 27 and 29 were arrested on suspicion of his murder shortly after but later released with no further action.

The police said that they were looking for a man seen with some petrol cans who was thought to have been driving a stolen grey Audi Q5 car that was later found burnt out which they thought had  been involved with the murder. The Audi Q5 car was registered in 2015.

The police said, 'We believe that the car was stolen in Sussex several months before the shooting and was stored somewhere until it was used in the murder. It was displaying stolen number plates linking it to South East London. It was burnt out just forty minutes after the shooting in the Forty Hill Area of Enfield'.

Cafer Aslan was the cousin of Bulent Kabala who was shot dead in Mount Pleasant, Barnet on 12 February 2018. Bulent Kabala's murder is also unsolved. It was also noted that anothere of his brothers, Ilhan Kabala, was shot outside a nightclub in Turkey in 2014 and the police noted that it could not be a coincidence that they were all murdered within a few years of each other.

Cafer Aslan was Turkish.
