The body of a newly-born male child was found in a hedge in Long Lane, Fazakerley.
Its mouth had been stuffed with cotton wool.
The medical evidence showed that the child had had a separate existance and that its cause of death was ashyxiation.
A verdict of murder against some person or persons unknown was returned.
