Frederick William Randall died in January 1963.
His body was later exhumed in 1965 after it was heard that he had been poisoned and a 55-year-old man was tried for his murder, but acquitted in January 1966. At the trial he denied murdering Frederick Randall or doing anything to injure his health.
It was heard that the man had been living with Frederick Randall's wife and wanted her to go away with him. The man had made a statement in which he had said that he had give Frederick Randall an overdose of sleeping tablets.
At the time of his trial he had been serving a ten year sentence for raping a 9-year-old girl.
