Ionut Gogonet

Ionut Gogonet died after being hit by one or more cars in Monument Road, Woking in the early hours of 8 October 2016. His body was found by a member of the public at about 3am.

It was thought that he had been hit by several cars.

A man was charged with several motoring offences, suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failing to report an accident on 8 October 2017, but was released under investigation and no one was charged for causing Ionut Gogonet's death.

On 8 November 2017, a sergeant from Surrey Police's serious collision investigation unit said, 'We are currently working to establish the exact circumstances of this incident but believe the man has been hit by possibly more than one vehicle. If you were on this road or know someone that was please can you get in touch with us as we need to understand what happened. We would also be keen to hear from anyone who has a dashcam that drove down this road before it was closed as this may have captured valuable information that could be useful for our investigation'.

Ionut Gogonet was Romanian and had been living in Maybury at the time.
