Michael Boothe was attacked outside a public lavatory in Elthorne Park, Hanwell early on Sunday morning 29 April 1990.

He was found lying slumped on the ground and was taken to New Ealing Hospital where he died a few hours later.

It was said that he had been attacked by a group of youths earlier on. The police arrested seven people after his murder, but they were all released after questioning.

The police said that they were interested in speaking to anyone who had been near the toilets, which were on the Boston Roadside of the park, around the time.

The police appealed to the gay community to help them trace the murderers, saying, 'The toilets nearby where the attack took place are frequented by members of the homosexual community and it is possible that some of them may be able to provide information about the incident'.

Michael Boothe was an actor and had worked in the business for about 30 years. It was said that he had worked in the West End, in film and also in television and that he had appeared in the 1971 Alfred Hitchcock film Frenzy. He was also said to have appeared in the television adaptation of Follow the Star and to have been in the soap opera General Hospital. He had recently appeared in the play Run For Your Wife in the West End and also appeared in shows at the Apollo, Albery, Whitehall and the Swansea Grand.
