Thomas Edwin Davies was shot by his 22-year-old cousin whilst out on a squirrel shooting expedition.
They had gone out with guns to shoot squirrels but couldn't find any. The cousin said that Thomas Davies suggested that they 'play Germans' and so the cousin ran in a zig zag manner whilst Thomas Davies pointed his gun, which was not loaded, at him.
The cousin said that when Thomas Davies shouted 'Halt', he stopped and swung his gun round and it went off, hitting Thomas Davies and killing him.
At the inquest a verdict of 'Accidental death' was returned.
