Harry Collinson was found unconscious in Plantation Drive, Hull, not far from his home.

His post-mortem concluded that his death was due to shock and haemorrhage following a fracture to the base of the skull.

He was a draughtsman and had lived in Park Lane in Hull.

A man that had lived in Holderness High Road in Hull said that he had accompanied Harry Collinson on a ship's trails on the day of his death, stating that when he last saw him he appeared to be in quite normal health.

His wife said that he had always enjoyed good health until about ten years earlier when he started to suffer from sugar diabetes.

An open verdict was returned.
