Elizabeth Fagan

Elizabeth Fagan was found in a yard off Russell Street in Wishaw at about 10am on New Year’s morning 1 January 1947.

She was found by a housewife in the yard who then went off for the police. When the police arrived, they found her to be dead.

She was also known as Elizabeth Carr as well as 'the colleen' to her fellow lodgers because she was of Irish extraction.

She had lived in a lodging house in Bell Street, Wishaw and was known to travel frequently to Glasgow.
