Date: 10 Sep 1947
Frank Willumsen was found dying on Newcastle Quayside on Wednesday 10 September 1947.
The coroner said, 'There is something extraordinary behind this'.
Frank Willumsen was a metal dresser and had lived in Ouse Street, Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
His brother said that when he last saw Frank Willumsen on the Tuesday evening he had had some drink but was sober and had told him that he was going aboard the Danish ship Hebe which had at the time been lying in No. 9 Wharf.
Frank Willumsen was found the following day lying against a wall on the wharf unconscious and taken to hospital where he died without regaining consciousness.
