John Ogston was found lying in Dundee Street at about 11pm on 1 January 2018 by a member of the public.
He had serious injuries to his head and body and was helped to a nearby house but died the following day, 2 January 2018.
It was thought that he had been struck by a vehicle. The police noted that his injuries were not the result of an assault and that it was more likely that he was struck by a vehicle. However, they said that they had been unable to trace the vehicle.
