Her husband was tried for her murder, but the charge was later dropped.
It was said that he had assaulted her in Royston Road near Castle Street in Glasgow on the morning of 1 January 1947. It was said that he had struck her a blow on her body with his fist, knocking her down, causing her injuries from which she later died at their home.
They had lived at 64 Coll Street in Glasgow.
