Helen Grace Wilcox Blount died from an overdose. She was found dead in her bed on 17 August 1948.
A doctor said that her death was due to a combination of aspirin and secconal.
An open verdict was returned.
She had married a stockbroker six weeks earlier. Her husband said that she had had three breakdowns, each one with slightly increasing severity. He said that she had a breakdown after their honeymoon and was prescribed drugs. He said that she had no worries, but at the same time she was worrying all the time. He added that she had never suggested taking her life.
He said that he found her lying in her twin bed face down on the pillow and that he could not rouse her and that a bottle of tablets that he had put on a bedside table were not there.
The coroner said, 'As far as I can see, there is no explanation at all'.
